The film follows our good old pals from the SAO anime (#sinon #bestgirl) but now they have AR or augmented reality which basically is like a virtual overlay on reality where the user stays conscious. Which sounds fun till, you have to actually be physically fit to play, count me out.
The film really takes you back to the original SAO arc which I personally really loved. Also spoiler alert, you finally see the level 100 boss from Aincrad, which is pretty op, spoiler over.
Overall it was definitely an emotional roller coaster, you feel sad for the bad guys, happy, sad again, happy, confused, shocked, confused, unconfused, happy again, scared. It was intense. I myself, a girl with a strong dislike for the cinema experience, forgot I was in the cinema, I was dragged in so deep. I must have looked slightly insane staring wide eyed with a grin at the screen.
Spoiler alert, the plot is so twisty and well thought out, with stealing the memories of SAO survivors and as to why the gang had to be sent back to the original Aincrad to fight the level 100 boss. I honestly felt like I was left with no lose ends and found it really satisfying, spoiler over.
Honestly, sit yourself in a dark room and watch it ASAP!!
